Seasonal Player Assistance Program

1. Program Purpose

The Soccer Academy Scholarship Program exists to ensure that financial hardship does not prevent a child from participating in competitive soccer. Scholarships help cover all or part of a player’s seasonal costs while promoting commitment, accountability, and community values.

2. What the Scholarship Covers

You can define tiers to stay within budget:

Covered Expenses (choose all that apply):

  • Registration fees

  • Uniforms (full or partial)

  • League fees

  • Training costs

  • Tournament fees (optional)

Scholarship Levels:

  • Full Scholarship – 100% of seasonal costs

  • Partial Scholarship – 25%, 50%, or 75% of costs

Scholarships are awarded per season and must be reapplied for each year.

3. Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following:

  • Demonstrated financial hardship

  • Participation in free/reduced lunch programs

  • Family experiencing temporary hardship (job loss, medical issues, etc.)

Player Requirements:

  • Must be registered with the academy

  • Must commit to attending practices and games

  • Maintain positive behavior and sportsmanship

  • Parent/guardian must support volunteer or service expectations (if required)

4. Application Process

Step 1: Application Submission
Parents/guardians complete a scholarship application form that includes:

  • Player name, age, team

  • Parent/guardian contact info

  • Household size

  • Brief financial hardship explanation

  • Scholarship amount requested (full or partial)

  • Agreement to scholarship terms

Step 2: Documentation (Optional but Recommended)

  • Proof of assistance (free lunch letter, SNAP, etc.)

  • Recent pay stub or written explanation of hardship

Step 3: Deadline

  • Applications due 3 weeks before season start

  • Late applications reviewed only if funds are available

5. Review & Approval Process

  • Reviewed by a Scholarship Committee (2–3 staff or board members)

  • Applications scored on:

    • Financial need

    • Player commitment

    • Available scholarship funds

  • Families notified within 7–10 business days

All applications are confidential.

6. Scholarship Conditions & Expectations

To keep the scholarship active:

  • Player must maintain 80–90% practice attendance

  • Display good sportsmanship

  • Follow team and academy policies

  • Parent must communicate absences in advance

  • Failure to meet expectations may result in revocation
